ABOUT ME

We are a South-African/German couple who currently live in Munich, Germany. One of the passions we share is traveling, getting to know foreign places and people to expand our minds and become better people. We also love doing all kinds of sports, especially in nature, like horse riding, swimming, skiing, hoola hooping, poi, hiking, mountain biking and scuba diving.

Jan-Carel: I spend too much time in front of a pc, I play guitar, do martial arts, read books, watch movies and enjoy the company of friends.
I'm an open-source web developer. I code in Python and use Zope and Plone. If any of that is familiar to you, congrats, you won some of geek points ;)
I love stand up comedy and all types of live shows, and I love psychedelic trance parties!

Manuela: I am a psychologist with a special interest in Positive Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology. I fell in love with a South African and Africa during an internship in Namibia in 2007 :)
I am non-religious and politically liberal. I love good conversations and discussions with a glass of red wine, I am interested in sociology and politics and see myself as a global citizen.

I like psy trance, metal, ambient, prog rock, pop rock, jazz, blues, alternative... I'm pretty much open minded when it comes to music, although I have my favourites ;)
Books: don't read fiction anymore... interested in self-actualisation, history, science and other non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

JC has jumped from the highest Bungy Jump in the world - 216m (in South Africa), a smaller one we have done together :)
We have slept in one of the most wonderful ecological tree top houses, honeymoon suite :), in the Knysna National Park, South Africa, for one of our first "dates" :)

We have started to learn Spanish and would be happy to refresh it, same for Frensh :)
