About Me

I have a History degree from Texas A&M University and a Recording Industry Degree from MTSU.
I moved around a lot as a kid. I don't have siblings.
I lived on a goat ranch near Austin. I know how to mend fences.
I lived in London as an illegal worker in the late 80s. I've also lived in NYC, LA, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, and a few other places.
I'm writing a memoir and researching a self help book to write.
Although I don't earn a living as a singer, I am one, and I write songs.
And I do have 1 studio, full band, album called "Someone I'll Never Meet."
You can find it on Pandora and Spotify. (If you want to know more about me as an artist, check out www.christinecochran.com. Yes, it needs updates!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not very active on the site, but I like meeting new people and connecting with their experience. I believe we "are all one." It's just variations of a theme.
My current place is TINY, hmu if you're in a bind; other than than, could maybe meet up!
I met some wonderful people in Pittsburgh, and I hosted one guy when I lived at the ranch by Austin.
I'm still FB friends w/ the PA host.

Interests

I'm told I have many conversations on many subjects.
I ponder human behavior, physics, cultural anthropology, philosophy. I know very little about these things, but I ponder them anyway! I'm a singer/songwriter, so I guess my brain is more the pensive type.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved a large Snapping Turtle off a 2-lane highway.
Worked in a pub on the River Thames and saw Tower Bridge every day.
Slept in the "shadow" of the Eiffel Tower during the bi-centennial of the French Revolution (1989).

The first time I visited The Getty in Los Angeles. It was fairly cold with a light fog. As it lifted somewhat, out on the "veranda," you could see all the way out to Catalina Island and all the way back to Malibu. It was simply stunning.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a lay student, I study early neurobiological development of childhood and mammalian attachment; I also study the origins of CPTSD.
I'm a medical consumer (patient) advocate and mental health advocate for self and others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If we have a guitar, we can swap songs.
Conversations and stories. Empathy and understanding (usually!).
I clean up after myself in the kitchen.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Mexico, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
