Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am here to share my experiences and learn from others and their travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started surfing in Hawaii back in the summer of 2010 when I was there for a month. I did it a year later when I went on a roadtrip to Canada and have always had an amazing experience. I have not had to much luck being hosted as I understand it is not easy for a solo male to be hosted, but I enjoy meeting p with other couchsurfers and learning about their cities just as much. I have met some wonderful people doing this and I love the spirit of travel that many other couchsurfers carry with them. I love to hear about others traveling experiences as this fuels my need to seek new adventures.

Interests

I like to travel on my free time. I also appreciate visual art and find great pleasure in loosing track of time with different art projects. I love to learn as much as I can about the world around me whether it is through reading or diving right into the middle of any opportunity that comes my way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music from most genres, anything from straight up Mexican banda and Latin rhythms to more mellow reggae beats or indy rock.

I have too many books to name, but among my favorite are "The Giver, Fahrenhiet 451, Always Running, Brave New World, Cadillac Desert, Drink Cultura..."

I don't have a television.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived abroad in Brasil for four months, spending most of my time in Bahia, Rio, Foz de Iguazu and the Amazon. I island hopped around Hawaii for a month. I jumped off an airplane while I was in Hawaii. I have done an all day hike to the summit of Half Dome in Yosemite and through the Kalalau trail in Kauai. I went on a road trip to Canada with two other couch surfers after meeting them once before. We hit up and hiked most of the state and national parks including Lassen Volcanic National Park, CA, Crater Lake National Park, OR, Olympic National Park, WA.
