About Me
---Introvert (mostly)
As many software developers I'm quiet and my definition of fun is not always the same as that of my extrovert friends. Nevertheless, I occasionally dance at parties with total disregard to my inability to do so.
---Protester against the status quo
Where I grew up people follow an unspoken rule that encourages people to find a partner as soon as they can, have kids and retire. A mindset like that is good for the state but limiting for an individual.
I do work in order to pay the bills, but in my free time I'm in a constant pursuit of knowledge... Or taking long naps, it really depends on the weather xD
---Open minded
Through education I discovered there were more ideas, different customs and people who lived to a different kind of correctness. I since have developed an ever improving sense of tolerance and fascination towards everyone's view of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Thanks to my interest in Portuguese, and languages in general, I met wonderful people from all over the world in the past few years, but I haven't seen them all in person yet, so I'm here to fix that. I'm an amateur linguist now and listening to people talk fascinates me in ways I couldn't have ever imagined.

Music, Movies, and Books
---Musik
I love all kinds of music, but of course some more than others and a few I'd wish get erased from existence.
For listening, I like instrumental songs with normal vocals (not screaming) unless it's Linkin Park, which kinda have nice melodies. I like lyrics I can listen to in the presence of my grandmother (who only understand Spanish, which is nice because swear words in other languages won't bother her xD).
---Tanz
For dancing, I make an effort to ignore the disgusting lyrics of hip-hop and reggaeton songs and enjoy the beats. And I'm learning Salsa, so I prefer those too.
---Films
My favorite movie is one called The Adjustment Bureau. It is perfect: it has the couple romanticism I'm not afraid to support and some questioning of fate, all this described along some awesome science fiction.
---Bücher
I've read some books that have influenced a lot my understanding of life. Some examples are: The Little Prince; Antoine d Exupèry, The art of loving; Erik Fromm, The alchemist; Paulo Coelho, Sapiens; Yuval Harari along with several novels I found entertaining like Hunger Games; Suzanne Collins, Brida; Paulo Coelho, American Gods; Neil Gaiman, Stories of Your Life: Ted Chiang, Southern Reach; Jeff VanderMeer
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Due to the lack of activities that most people would objectively qualify as amazing, I'll just leave this unanswered :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll do language exchange with anyone interested, in fact if you know German I'd love to hear from you. You can find me at jcespinoza dot com.
I'm not a teacher, but I know how hard it is to find someone to practice, so I'd be glad to share the little I know. In this regard, I could attempt to make you a Web Developer, in fact I feel I can get you to write your own website in a couple days :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Although I still haven't invested enough in a guests room, everyone needing a place to rest from the exhaustion of traveling is welcome in my house where I live with my parents and siblings if they don't mind the couch.
As long as you're NOT here exclusively for partying, you won't be disappointed by the places I go hiking, sightseeing:
- Cerro Azul Meambar national park
- The Yojoa lake
- Luna del Puente Natural Reserve
Countries I’ve Visited
Brazil, Paraguay
