Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm a recently turned 19-year old student living in the US. Looking forward to getting to know the world! This next semester will take place in St. Peter, MN, but beyond that, I plan putting my high school German to good use and study in Europe.
"Ohne Fleiß, Kein Preis."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I plan to study abroad as much as possible while a university student. There is no greater learning experience than traveling, and I hope to use CouchSurfing as a tool to achieve that dream, as well as to meet the amazing people of this world.
Interests
I am a language fanatic! I have English and Spanish under my belt, and currently learning German and to a lesser extent Swedish. Why you ask? Because why not. I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Trying new food is scary but very rewarding to me. I enjoy various sports like biking, running, lacrosse, football, baseball, badminton, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
It might be a cliché to claim an eclectic taste in music and film, but that's really the most accurate description. Foreign films are a lot of fun to watch, especially German, because I always learn some new words or expressions you won't learn in school.
Neat trick: If you want to enjoy a larger variety of foreign films on Netflix, download Hola Better Internet Extension for your browser. This will allow you to browse as if you were doing so from any country you want, and that allows you to access Netflix content only available for our foreign friends. Enjoy!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once participated as an extra in a local independent film. It's a great way to meet some interesting people and learn about the movie industry. The whole experience was very rewarding and I've continued to seek out such opportunities. I recommend it to anyone looking for a little fun!
Very recently in my trip to the East coast, I got to spend a few days in New York City. As the very last thing I did before boarding a bus to Chicago, I went to the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan and walked along a gorgeous trail in a repurposed above-ground track known as the Chelsea High Line. Numerous plants, trees, and shrubs made lose the notion that you are in a crowded city, especially if walking at night like I did. As the tracks went through various buildings, there were spots for the occasional concession stands, outdoor projectors, fountains, pools, and even small lawns where couples would lay holding hands while gazing up at the stars. This little known gem was the "cherry on top" of my trip, and truly made for a remarkable experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I haven't travelled much in my life, after all I did just graduate from high school, but I do love discussing the few places I have been to and the ones I hope to visit in the foreseeable future. Something that I know for a fact is that travel is my newfound passion, and could literally spend hours just talking about the world!
My mom taught me how to make Venezuelan arepas, and I can bake French macarons. Sort of. They always look perfect, with the little ridges known as "feet" that are the sign of a true Macaron, but they tend to be hollow. I blame the merengue.
Also I can pronounce the name of the Icelandic volcano that erupted in 2010 (Eyjafjallajökull) and that really long Welsh city name (Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch).
