ABOUT ME

I always hesitate writing about myself, but for starters, I was born in a suburb of Los Angeles, you know, one of those typical cookie-cutter towns with 3 Walmarts, 4 movie theaters, 10 Taco Bells, and enough McDonalds' for every person in town to have their own franchise. In summary, once I began growing older, I began feeling trapped in my town. When I was 17 my parents and I embarked on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise that truly changed my life and opened my eyes to the grandeur of the world and how much is out there. When I began college in Santa Barbara (still one of the most beautiful places on Earth to me) I began delving deeper into my Italian heritage. After playing 16 years of baseball everyday of my life, a little change was desperately necessary. After studying Italian and Global Studies for 2 years, I moved to Bologna, Italy to study for a year, and this move altered my life. It has been a priority of mine to see the world (and I've been doing really well so far), and I will continue to do so; meeting people, learning cultures, and tasting the local cuisine (food is my passion).

Hit me up, I'm always down to host a fellow human.

PHILOSOPHY

Try less to emphasize the importance of the value of your wallet or material items, and refocus on the value of experiences, connections, friendships, and travels.

When I ask people in my town what they want to be when they grow up, they reply "Doctor, Lawyer, Economist, Chef," which is all fine, but since when do we as humans identify ourselves with our profession? I refuse to do that....ask me that question and I'll respond, "Happy."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed several times (whether I grabbed a beer, or stayed on their couch) around Europe with some really cool people...Every experience is a new and rewarding one, and I hope to keep in contact with my couchsurfing friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had one terrible experience in Rome, Italy with these Napolitani, but retrospectively, was one of the funniest nights of my life. Besides that, everyone I have ever surfed with has been awesome...I love meeting people in this fashion. Had an awesome time in Bratislava, Innsbruck, Rome, and Budapest with some cool couchsurfing guys...many more to come! I have also hosted a number of really nice people (always Germans for some reason haha)

Interests

Brewing my own beer, Cooking, MUSIC, GUITAR, volunteering, teaching, traveling (obviously), brewing my own beer, photography, jogging, making stories to tell my grandkids...

Goodfellas, Dumb and Dumber, City of God, Leon; The Professional, V for Vendetta, Godfather...I've seen so many movies worth seeing, I can't even think of any...

As for Books, I enjoy things that are food related including:
Omnivore's Dilemma-Michael Pollan
In Defense of Food- Michael Pollan
Fast Food Nation- Eric Schlosser

Also, I love fiction novels

etc...

Anything discussing a dystopian, futuristic society...I love it

I'd love to learn some local cuisine and how to cook it, and I could maybe reciprocate...If you wanna learn some guitar, I'd be more than happy to help you out! I know Italian pretty damn well (not fluent though :/ ) Politics, anything!
