About Me
Currently a teacher in SF at a school for recent immigrant students. Joined couchsurfing while I was living and teaching on the Tibetan plateau (technically in Qinghai province, China). Wouldn't have traded the experience for anything. Though I've been back in the states for several years, I'm still trying to re-figure this place out.
As for things I like to do - outdoors activities (climbing, skiing, hiking, running), playing classical piano, teaching, reading, languages, hotpot and Chinese street food, yak herding, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've done a fair bit of hosting (in China), but hope to start surfing soon! Currently can't host due to the problem of having too many roommates.
Interests
Outdoor stuff (climbing, hiking, skiing, etc), running (especially loooonng adventure runs), conservation and environmental protection, playing romantic piano music at earsplitting volume, guitar, teaching, reading, Tibetan pop music, learning languages, hotpot restaurants...etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not just one...that's impossible: "Couchsurfing" with Tibetan nomads at an absurdly beautiful, unspoiled hot springs valley in Yushu, Qinghai. Traveling by motorcycle to visit students' homes (tents) in remote Qinghai grasslands. Having the opportunity to work/live/play in McCarthy, Alaska. Bowdoin College. And everyday life here where I live is pretty special and amazing, too. But most of all, having the opportunity to teach and work with the most amazing students in the world.
