About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people and see as much as I can.

ABOUT ME

Work hard, play hard. I got a new lease on life awhile ago and averted becoming static in my hometown. I left Canada 9 years ago and never looked back. Since then I have lived in Africa, the Middle East and am now in the beautiful caribbean living on the island of Hispanola on the Haitian side. What can I say? I lucked out and found a job where I travel.

PHILOSOPHY

"Big guy doing big thangs, don't do much but I do what I do."

I hope I never grow up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted when I was in Lebanon but my current living situation does not allow for it. I like to help fellow travelers regarding feedback or assistance when possible. I’m a big guy on a small globe and just trying to make it a friendlier place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted but haven't surfed. I have met with travelers on the road, social gatherings, partied and assisted when possible.

There is nothing negative worth mentioning to date. I have met with an array of different people and looking forward to keeping at it. What works for me might not with others and that’s the world we live in.

Interests

I like wandering when possible so I can experience new environments, cultures and individuals. Taking into account my line of work no environment is unapproachable and everything is worth a once over.

I try to remain as active as possible but it has been challenging with work. I follow hockey, football (NFL) and MMA. I can participate in almost any activity and enjoying trying new ones. I particularly enjoy tennis, basketball, swimming, kickboxing and hiking.

If you get me in a club “I like to move it” and I can hold my own with the best of them as I was once a bartender.....yes I am somewhat of a party animal.

Music, Movies, and Books

For movies and books if I don't doze off then I enjoyed it. As for music I have an array of preferences and no particular favorites. This of course has diversified over the past years as I’ve discovered music outside of the North American mainstream.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Currently it's the sunrises in Port Au Prince but there is a long list....which is topped by being in Port Au Prince during the 2010 Earthquake.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life is too short to worry about the little things. Having survived the earthquake in Port Au Prince all I can tell people is that we are here one day and gone the next. Enjoying everything in between that time is what matters because one never knows when this crazy ride called "Life" will come to an end. Oh yeah and watch out for clowns....never turn your back on a clown.
