Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
While learning in school and working hard in a job, never forget to live my life. Also - ride public transit everywhere.
ABOUT ME
My name is James and I've been a nomad of sorts for the last couple of years. Grew up on Long Island, college in Philly, work in Baltimore, live in South Africa, work in Arlington, and grad school now in Atlanta. No street address has lasted me more than 12 months in the last 6 years. But even still, my goal is to always be local. Learn the city, make new friends, explore new places.
I'm a transportation engineer/transit nerd and love talking about and exploring places by public transportation. I'm outgoing and always interested in learning about what you're doing. I'm open minded, and looking for new and exciting experiences so hopefully we can get to know one another!
PHILOSOPHY
Be outward focused - do whatever you can to improve the lives of others around you. Care about others and trust that they will take care of you.
Be positive - I'm rarely sad and it's a personal choice. When I am, there's good reason and I hope my friends will be there to help me through it.
Be a better person. Just... always try.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to meet new people and bring a positive attitude to anyone's home while I continue to wander the world. I haven't had the luxury of easy space to share, but as soon as I settle down I hope to be able to pay it forward twofold. Or threefold.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Little. Heard great things from friends while in South Africa and was shown around a city twice by CSers through a friend, at the time. I think that people on CS are inherently good and outgoing, which is ultra compatible with who I am.
