About Me

I recently returned to Canada after spending a year traveling Australia, I returned with a passion for learning everything I can and with a much greater appreciation for people who enter my life.

I am currently working on my first house with the intention of renting it out to support a more off-grid lifestyle.

I enjoy music and play guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), piano, mandolin, ukulele, didgeridoo, drums, cello, pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

I ride off road unicycle and am planning on a triathlon this summer on the unicycle, I also enjoy hiking mountains, rock climbing, scubadiving, photography, and knitting in my hammock

I'm a Christian who is interested in hearing what people believe and why they believe it. I'm not one to condemn or push religion on people who aren't interested though.

I grew up camping every summer and could probably be convinced to go camping on very short notice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had people offer me a bed while I was traveling and know how good it can feel to have a shower, clean your clothes and sleep on something soft so I want to bless people with that so long as I have it.

I also love meeting people and hearing their stories.

My biggest interest beside meeting people is learning which means that my interests then become very broad.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical preferences range from country to classical, rock, metal, instrumental, some electronic music, folk, etc. I have even started into rap recently (a genre I used to avoid)

My favourite movies and TV shows include a lot of science fiction and documentaries. Dr. Who, warehouse 13, the 100, and Jericho are great shows but I don't watch much.

I have only recently taken an interest into reading so I don't have a great list of favourite books or genres. Much of what I have read has been educational or science fiction. I'm currently reading the Permaculture design manual, backyard beekeeping and some business related books. The only series that I have read are the hunger games and Eragon although I'm working on LOTR.
I think the most well written book I have read was definitely Dracula.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year traveling Australia after ariving with only $3 and no return ticket.

I lost 70lbs and went from being a couch potato to having an active lifestyle and some semblance of confidence. (Kept 50 off)

The biggest achievement I think is simply in helping people who feel unloved to feel loved, valued and to have a sense of hope again.

Teach, Learn, Share

As you can see by my interests I have dabbled in just about everything. Most topics I spent months researching and know or at least knew at one point everything I would need to know to do that thing (be it building a house with different materials, how to select, care for, breed and in some cases slaughter an animal, I resesearch start to finish).

I would gladly talk about any of those topics, share travel stories or learn about anything you may have to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

lessons on how to prepare food/cook, tips on household maintenance and what small changes would have the biggest affect on your house. I can share my time and energy to help with projects, I have many stories to offer, I can even keep your spare bed warm for you.

Countries I’ve Visited

American Samoa, Australia, Botswana, Fiji, New Caledonia, United Kingdom, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, Vanuatu, Zambia

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Canada
