About Me

I'm a writer who's disillusioned with writing as a profession, since it's actually quite stressful. I'm also into mountaineering and climbing, but don't let that fool you into thinking my life is extreme -- it's really quite mundane, really.

Depending on my mood, I can yap a lot, but on some days, I won't be much of a talker. But know that I love listening to stories and connecting with people.

Everyone has a story to tell -- and I'd love to hear yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First things first: I'm not here to get in your pants -- I'm too oblivious for that. Besides, what's an ethnically-ambiguous twenty-something male like me got to do but to make friends in places where I know absolutely no one?

Yeah, Couchsurfing has been rather shit lately and is filled with pervs who host mostly women and won't respond to hangout requests most of the time, but I still think it's a good enough platform to meet people. Hit me up . . . or don't. (Or please do, I need friends.)

Interests

I love the outdoors. My affinity for going on hikes, treks, and climbs helped me get through even the toughest moments of my life. Currently, I'm trying to start an adventure tour company to help others experience what it's like to be outside for once.

If you're not into that stuff, I'm also into literature, poetry, arts, philosophy, and politics. I'm interested in ancient esoteric cultures and traditions, psychology, and the study of what it is to be human. Pretentious bollocks, sorta.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical literature. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is my favorite book of all time. I'm also into fantasy such as The Witcher and A Song of Ice and Fire. In fact, I'm writing a (new) book of the fantasy genre.

I listen to a lot of indie music like The Smiths and Belle and Sebastian. Also, I've always been in love with classical music. Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, and Beethoven are among my favorite composers.

As for movies, that's tricky. Probably anything made by Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, and Darren Aronofsky, among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wrote a full-length novel. Trust me, it wasn't easy -- and that's not even the hard part! Getting it published is tougher.

Well, no luck with that novel so far. I'm currently writing a new one, still of the fantasy genre. (UPDATE: Finished writing it as well.)
