Re-acquainting myself with CS - been away for a while

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Montreal, QC. I have travelled a fair bit in the last few years and hope to head to uncharted territories again soon. I spent a year living in Dublin, Ireland and while there got to travel a little all over the place in Western Europe. This was by far the best experience I have ever had, and cannot say enough how enjoyable it was.

I used to play in a number bands and got to tour a little bit back in 2011. I was lucky enough to see most of the big cities in the USA, and had an absolute blast the whole time! Although I no longer have a current band, I love discovering and helping people discover new music of all kinds.

I also highly enjoy going to the pub and unwinding with friends. I find there is a great atmosphere there where you can connect with other people and just talk about everything and nothing. And the occasional pub crawl is also a lot of fun!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have only been a surfer. I joined this network in February of 2007, but have since had numerous very enjoyable experiences!

I found CS to be the best way to travel when at all possible. Having a local show you around their own city is always infinitely more entertaining than a random tour guide. Hostels are a lot of fun as well, to meet fellow travellers and party a good bit. But I found CS experiences to be more memorable than the numerous amounts of pub crawls and parties that hostels provide.

Surfed in Dublin, Oslo, Bergen, Gothenburg, Malmo, Munich, and Paris.

Music, school, bands, travel stories, history.... just about anything really! That's what conversations are for - discovering new things!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. You have some, I want to listen. Simple, no?

Travel books are what I love and dread. I get to see the places I want to go, and then think of how I will afford getting there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on the edge of the cliffs on the Aran Islands in Ireland.

Trekking up the mountains in Western Norway, and seeing the fjords there too.

Travelling through Central/Eastern Europe for a month with my bud Ray (raypad), and having an absolute blast the whole time!

Snowboarding in the French Alps. Simply breathtaking.

Touring the US for over a month with a band, playing shows all over the place. What an experience!

(And they said only say one....)
