Overview
About Me
I bike and cook a lot. After college (Alfred University- Psychology) I started cooking in restaurants and then before long I also started biking long distances. Sometimes I'll write or make art (usually clay sculpture). This year I spent the Spring cooking on a tall-ship on the Hudson river, and have been traveling and volunteering around the Pacific Northwest. Last year I tried living near Seattle, house-sitting and making sauerkraut, then tried Ojai, CA, gardening and taking Theosophical classes and making soap, then briefly tried living at a Zen monastery. Year before, I biked from New York to Minneapolis, then spent five weeks on Orcas Island working at a Theosophical camp. I also went vegan at the beginning of that trip. The previous year I biked the whole New England coast to the end of Maine and back, and also biked from Vancouver to the middle of Oregon, and Northern Mississippi to Western Florida. And the year before that I took a leap of faith and went out to Vancouver to start my first bike trip to points unknown- I ended up in Mexico three months later.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I normally use Warm Showers.org during my bike trips, but Couchsurfing came first for me- they're both ways to break down barriers. I couch-surfed a lot in 2012 when I spent a month hopping around Europe.
I also like to host, but have only been able to do so rarely, so please don't hesitate to send a request. I'd love to help however I can.

Teach, Learn, Share
"The beloved that you seek is none other than yourself...Wisdom and compassion are the components of your actual identity...You have never made a mistake...You are not your thoughts...No one can affirm you or define you...You are perfect...The Buddha is in you...Clinging and grasping cause suffering...Life is impermanent, groundless, and fluid...Anxiety arises from resistance"
