COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
During my time as a taxi driver (2003?, I once had a call to a Wal-Mart just before Christmas. At first I thought that the young Latino couple were a gang member and his girlfriend...first impressions are not always valid. They were a couple of Peruvian students who were working in New Mexico during their summer vacation. They couldn't make the bus connection, so they stayed at my house. Two days later, I took a van load of about 7 Peruvian students to the Angel Fire Ski Resort in northern New Mexico. Now,every year,a few old and few new students spend a night or two on their way up to the north, or on their way to the airport.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in the Middle East (Bahrain) during 1974-1976 as an American Peace Corps volunteer. Leaving my own country and family showed me that I was not the center of the universe, nor was my home the center of the world. My thinking has not been the same ever since.
