ABOUT ME

My name is Julie and I am a student at Cal Poly University finishing up my last year. I am studying Forestry with a concentration of Forest and Environmental Practices. I just finished my final year of NCAA Division 1 track and field career. I have been throwing the shot-put and discus for 8 years now and has given me great opportunity to see different parts of the US and meet great people. Besides being a college student athlete I love to be outdoors whether it be hiking through the woods, swimming in a lake, or spending the day at a secret beach. I spend a lot of time with my Vizsla dog Marley, she is a total sweetheart! I love hanging at the beach, hanging with friends, and drinking some brews.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have used couchsurfing during a Pacific Northwest roadtrip and have had couch surfers stay with me in the summer in Santa Cruz. Now I am back at school in San Luis Obispo and love to host more people until my future travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only positive couchsurfing experiences. I hosted an amazing motorcycle crosscounty girl and surfed with a fabulous couple in Bend, Oregon.

I'm appreciate all different kinds of music. Favorite genres classic rock and reggae. I'm not a huge movie go-er but I enjoy comedy, documentaries, action/adventure movies. I just recently got really into reading, mostly reading non-fiction but open to anything.

One thing I am proud of is placing 6th at the Track and Field National Championships this past spring.

I guess a bit of info most people do not know is smokey the bear was the worst possible campaign for CA forest lands. Ask me and I'll tell you why :)
