ABOUT ME

This is always tough for me. I don't like describing myself...but I guess my friends would say that I am a leader. I like to have a plan and know what my options are, before I make a decision. I'm not the most spontaneous person in the world, but I definitely have my moments! I am very loyal and reliable; if you need something, I am there for you. I LOVE children. Growing up in a large family, means that I have been taking care of kids since I was pretty young. Family is VERY important to me. I wouldn't know what to do without mine. My friends would also say that I am a nice person, that genuinely cares about those that are in my life.

I am currently traveling with my friend Lisa, whom I grew up with. We have started our three month adventure in London and are heading to Italy, France, Amsterdam, Interlaken and then back to the UK! I am so excited for our journey and look forward to all of the people we will meet, the places we will see and the food we will eat :)

Treat others how you wish to be treated. Give people a break, you never know what they've been through or are currently going through.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just joined the couchsurfing community after hearing only wonderful things about friends' experiences. I look forward to meeting some amazing people, and hopefully learning more about different ways of life!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time participating. I have heard from several sources, however, and have heard only great things.

Interests

I come from a large family, and have always been surrounded by amazing people. Naturally, with a lot of people in one house comes chaos as well! I am a very active person and love being outdoors, but I am also a bookworm :) I grew up playing soccer and basketball, but fell in love with the sport of rugby in college and have now been playing for five years. I love hiking and swimming in natural bodies of water. I love appreciating the natural beauty of the world we live in. Man-made things are nice, but look outside and you can find things that are much more spectacular!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love country music, not the really twangy stuff but a good guitar can do wonders! Really I enjoy all kinds of music from country to soul to rock and roll (and no I didn't just put that because it rhymes...!)

Favorite movie? Definitely the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Colin Firth is the best Darcy, can't even watch the other versions because he is not in them! And because it is word for word the same as the book :)

I am a big fan of historical fiction books, but only recently discovered them so haven't read that many yet. I also love a book where I can check my brain at the door. It's a nice break from reality. If you have any good book suggestions I would love to hear them (from any category)!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked through the backcountry in Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks and they are absolutely breathtaking. My favorite part however was soaking in a natural hotspring right below a 70 foot waterfall!

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure exactly what I can teach, but would love to learn how people live throughout different regions of the world. I would also like to learn how to cook some authentic dishes from the places I visit!
