Hello there!

I'm Jean, an open-minded French guy coming from the southwest of France and seeking to connect with kind-hearted people and explore new places :) I'm excited to join the Couchsurfing community! I recently arrived in Germany for work and I'm eager to discover this beautiful country.

As a newcomer, I believe that the best way to truly understand a place is by experiencing it through the eyes of its residents. I find great joy in engaging in conversation, sharing experiences, and learning with others.

When I'm not exploring new places, I find solace and joy in various activities. While playing rugby and practicing climbing (rope and bouldering) are my main sporty hobbies, I have a deep appreciation for any kind of physical activity, whether it's engaging in any collective sports, practicing yoga, biking, or letting loose with a dance session. Sometimes, I find the greatest joy in simply pausing, taking a breath, and observing the world around me, especially when spring and some birdsong are involved^^

I'm also a literature enthusiast with a penchant for thought-provoking works. Authors such as Queneau, Jelinek, Gracq, Kafka, and Barthes have left an indelible mark on my sensitivity. Cinema holds a special place in my heart too, and I adore directors like Kaurismäki, Nouvelle Vague icons, Lánthimos, and Kubrick.

As a traveler, I value respect, openness, and a sense of adventure. I believe that embracing different cultures and perspectives enriches our lives in countless ways. Currently, I'm fluent in French and English and trying to learn German.

During my stay, you can expect me to be a considerate and respectful guest, ensuring open communication and maintaining a clean and tidy space. I cherish the opportunity to discover your city, whether it's wandering its hidden alleys, sipping a delightful drink at a local haunt, or even cooking up a delicious vegetarian meal together.
