About Me

Tomé clases de español en Buenos Aires y entonces tengo que practicar :)

I set sail from France in November last year, through the Canaries, Cabo Verde, across the Atlantic Ocean to the windward islands of the Carribbean, then South to Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana and eventually Brazil.

I left the last boat I was on in Fortaleza and carried on by bus along the coast to Uruguay and now Argentina for a few months.

I took some Spanish classes in Buenos Aires and am now visiting the rest of the country over the next few months.

I'm always keen to drink mate or wine and eat some local delicacies.

I lived, studied and worked in New Zealand for 5 years and I'm always glad to share some of the memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's cool having people over.
Had a few people staying over at my flat in New Zealand, I thought I'd carry on and actually register. It's also become a great way to meet people and make friends over the years.

Interests

Sailing, nature and outdoorsy stuff. I've always had a fascination for what nature is capable of creating.
I also love good food, wine and cheese.
Always keen for a hike or a pint. Or both.
I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

Listening to a wide range of things, including but not limited to : Radio Moscow, Rory Gallagher, Jacques Brel, the Fugees, All Them Witches, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Die Antwoord, George Brassens, José Gonzalez, etc.

Books : any Jack London.
I Loved reading Millenium but I wish I stopped after the 3rd book.
St Exupéry is one hell of a writer too. Charles Bukowski, Frank Herbert, etc.

I read by cycles, a bit of binge reading from time to time and nothing much in between
