Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will always remember that night in Hamburg, Germany where I slept hidden in bushes in the middle of a great boulevard because it was illegal to sleep in the parks. Or in Copenhagen, Denmark when I was sleeping on a park bench while it was snowing and temperature was near freezing. Not that I have any regrets, these moments are very special to me and I would still do it again, but I also remember those nights where a hot shower and a cosy couch would have been such a blessing and I had to do without or hope I would meet someone nice enough to invite me over. That was 15 years before couchsurfing and now that it does exists I definitely want to give back the generosity I've received and get the chance to travel differently, especially since I never have a lot of money when I travel and because it seems to be a good way to meet locals.

Ah way too many things to put in here.

At this moment, on my phone the music I have is : abida parveen (sufi music), gregorian chants, florence and the machine, fnair (moroccan hip hop), vivaldi's four season recompsed by max richter, slumdog millionaire soundtrack (but more for the "paper planes" song, & stars of the lid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a canoe trip in northern Quebec in complete autonomy for a full month hundreds of miles away from any signs of civilization and facing the elements with two buddies. This was a life changing experience as we were navigating against the river current. We therefore had to wade with water up to our waist, fighting against the river and pulling the canoe by hand one step at a time for days and days, sleeping on lichens under the stars and eating beans and rice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study gongfu, qigong and healing arts through Traditional Chinese Medicine and tuina massage therapy. As it is normal to do when one follow this path, I share and teach what I've learned and this is my biggest leitmotiv in life. Also If you're interested I can definitely introduce you to the game of go (weiqi).

I like to learn about everything and anything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a very busy live but I'm definitely looking forward sharing a night of food & drinks. I can also help you find your way around town. If we are lucky we might have some time to play a game of go or better, get out of town and go to the country for a night.
