ABOUT ME

I am curious. I love travelling.

***************************************************

CS, for me, has changed travelling drastically, and for the much better.

I met incredible people I would have never met otherwise, and I just love the utopian idea that is behind couchsurfing.

(I think the internet has produced so much crap and not always changed our lifes to the better. there are only a few exceptions, and CS is one of them.)

***************************************************
***************************************************

and I just discovered this and declared it to be my favourite fear:

anatidaephobia: the fear that somewhere, somehow a duck is watching you.

the anatidaephobic individual fears that no matter where they are or what they are doing, a duck watches.

YES! the coolest phobia ever! *QUACK!*

***************************************************

PHILOSOPHY

In times like these travelling is the only way to stay alive and keep dreaming.

Music, Movies, and Books

*** MUSIC ***

yes, I do like punk rock.

and I do like kitsch, too.

and I like trash & pop.

(ok, in general, music is quite important for me... apart from hairy monsters!)

some bands I like:

JOY DIVISION
PULP
THE SOUND
THE WIRE
MICACHU AND THE SHAPES
IAN DURY AND THE BLOCKHEADS
BONAPARTE
TAXI GIRL
AMON TOBIN
YOUTH LAGOON
THE HORRORS
ANXIETEAM

plus, really weird stuff like
DIE ANTWOORD (...check it out!)

plus,
since some time I am into something that may be called a mixture of shoegazing / electroclash indie noise pop (if that exists...).

I recently discovered the canadian band HOLY FUCK which use all kind of experimental effect machines and even *film tapes* together with drums and guitars to produce their songs.
A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS also has some cool songs.

a berlin band that I can recommend is KISSOGRAM. even if apparently they are not better in their live concerts than on their LP's, but they have some real cool songs.

but still, there is so much about music I like, we could discuss hours and hours about it listening to vinyls - from french music of the 80ies to all kinds of glamourous post-punk stuff --

and, newly and oddly enough for myself, I also like the berghain style minimal electro...

Another band I dicovered some time ago is a French band from the 80ies "RUTH" (the album from 1985: Polaroïd/Roman/Photo). It also contains a clever cover of She brings the rain by Can (another band I like). As far as I know this was the first cover of a Can piece recorded and published on a LP.

and last but not least:

ESCIMOS - www.escimos.de
The escimos are good friends of mine and I just love their popbeats! They terribly rock and they are cool guys to hang out with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travellin' to mexico to get some SUN during European wintertime. a thing I will definitely repeat***

doin' a very spontaneous CS-roadtrip down the northern american west coast ---- from vancouver to los angeles ---- 2500 kilometers in a car together with really nice people ---
