👋Hi! I've heard only good things from other Couchsurfers and one of my best friends continues to recommend the experience. One of my favorite things about traveling is connecting with people from across the world and I've heard this is an excellent way to get to know other travel, language, and culture enthusiasts. I studied psychology in college and worked internationally in marketing, then as a consultant, and now am focusing on growing my own business (in health and wellness). In my free time, I both teach and study yoga. I'm also an avid reader, travel blog writer, and runner and I never get tired of exploring my city with friends.

I first learned of CS through a friend who frequently hosted travelers while we were working abroad as ESL teachers in South Korea. It was always good to meet and get to know her well-traveled guests, being reminded again and again that people can come from the other side of the world yet you can find so much common ground.

兴趣

I love to salsa and move my body to almost any Latin dance; I'm still learning and take advantage of the lessons at the salsa clubs here in St. Louis. I also teach vinyasa flow and hatha yoga classes locally, where my focus is on guiding students on linking breath to movement -and having a lot of fun incorporating my dance background leading ballet barre exercises. Music is a big part of my life but blues and soul music move me the most. I also enjoy bluegrass and fun, rhythmic electric pop, hip-hop, rap, funk, reggae, rock, and if I here salsa, bachata, or reggaeton I am dancing!

My favorite movies are Casablanca, The Lord of the Rings, Love Me If You Dare, Tombstone, The Emperor's New Groove, and Moulin Rouge.

I'm currently reading the Silk Road, and my latest favorite book I've read is this historical epic, Fall of Giants which follows the intertwining lives of five different families (American, English, Welsh, German, Russian) through World War I, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women’s suffrage. It's more than just a history lesson and explores deeply, human perspectives beyond "good guys vs. bad guys". It beautifully illustrates how people essentially value the same things in life regardless of where we live it.

I was emancipated at 15 and put myself through college, so I am proud of how far I've come and even more grateful to the wonderful people I've met who've encouraged and supported me on my journey in life.

As a 200 E-RYT certified yoga instructor (studying to become 500 E-RYT), I'm happy to practice or teach a yoga lesson with you.

I can speak conversational Korean, and am always learning Spanish (someday I'd like to learn Arabic and Russian too), if you'd like to speak with me, I will do my beginner's best hablando en Español.
