About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently pursuing graduate studies in Monterey, California.

I love traveling (who doesn't, right?). I really like taking pictures, not so much being on them though.

I like reading books in the language they were written and I watch a lot of series and movies. I'm currently reading a lot of French books.

Finally, (I'm stealing this from a friend's wall) I love the feeling of being a stranger in a place I've never been before!

PHILOSOPHY

Eat.Pray.Love? xD I'm just kidding. I don't really have one in particular. Maybe, visit as many places as you can while you're able to do it. Talk to strangers, they might be really cool or wise or both and they can also turn a crappy day into a really awesome one. Read!!! You don't want to look like a fool when you are talking to these cool strangers xD . Be sympathetic and pay forward!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't know.... I couchsurf? I'd love to be able to offer at least a couch to all the couchsurfers out there. Unfortunately I don't have my own place :(

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I couchsurfed was in 2011, when I moved to France to work as a Spanish assistant. I didn't feel this was very safe but a friend convinced me and we packed our stuff and went to Turkey. We stayed with a really cool guy (Kemal) and his two cousins (Ezra and Tuba). They were really nice! Kemal gave us really good advice about places that tourists never get to visit because you can't find them in the tourist's guides and also the best way to get to those places using public transportation (and we saved a loooot of money). It was a really great first experience!

In 2011 and 2012 I visited around 10 countries in Europe using couchsurfing and I couldn't be happier. Some experiences were better that others but I do not regret any of them. I met incredible people and visited breathtaking places.

In 2014, I couchsurfed a couple of times in Caracas, and it was surprisingly a good experience. I also met with a couchsurfer from NY who was visiting Maracaibo early in 2015.

I haven't couchsurfed in a while now but I'd like that to change.
