About Me

CURRENT MISSION: Improvisation ! Life is like a huge jam session...

ABOUT ME: Generally energic, curious about new things and new people, communicative... Trying to enjoy the instant in different ways (it could be having party, reading a book, doing yoga, listening music...). I like people, especially those people whose eyes shine when they talk about their passions!

PHILOSOPHY: Feeling!

El día que pases sin amor
no merece que el sol lo ilumine
ni que la luna le traiga consuelo.
Khayyam

Interests

Cooking, reading, hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz/Blues/Soul (Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Otis Reding), Balkan Music, some classic French music (Georges Brassens, Léo Ferré), rap from different countries (Ceza, Kenny Arkana, Ana Tijoux, Cypress Hill, Orishas, Subcarpati), ethnic electro (Nicola Cruz, Oi va voi), afrobeat (Fela Kuti and followers), ranchera, son jarocho, salsa, champeta...

I read principally poetry (Artaud, Michaux, Pansaers, Fondane, of course Baudelaire, Khayyam, Rumi, Juarroz, Gorostiza), some essays about litterature, philosophy or politics (Camus, Nietszche) and Latin-American litterature (Borges, Cortazar, Miguel Angel Asturias...).

Cinéma chanbara (Kurosawa), ciné Nouvelle Vague (Godart), contemplative and mystical directors as Tarkovski, Chris Marker, Pasolini, Buñuel, Bergman, Satiajit Ray, and directors that get deep into the psychologies of the charachters as Fassbinder, Cassavetes, Orson Welles, Jim Jarmusch...
Generally I prefer old cinema than modern. I love old black and white movies as Freaks (Tod Browning), Soy Cuba, Eisenstein's films... In modern cinema, I like the Cohen Brothers (No country for old men), some of Almodovar, Fight Club, Winter sleep, Oldboy, Parasite...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the facts are secondary, the important is how intense you feel it.
But I remember that visiting East-Turkey and Georgia by hitch-hiking was a great experience.
Also climbing El Iztaccihuatl (a mountain in Mexico) by night was incredible. Actually, Mexico has been an extraordinary experience by itself.
And dancing into a comparsa in the Carnaval de Barranquilla (Colombia) changed my life for ever.
