About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Peace on Earth

ABOUT ME

Being outside is the best! Hike, backpack, ski, run, bicycle, kayak, I like moving; and it is BEST outside.

God has protected me and guided me and He loves ALL people and taught me to love others, even (or perhaps especially) my enemies. I pray to love others a little bit more EACH DAY as he has loved me. (I believe that only with His help is this possible.) That is why I became a nurse (to minister to and care for peeps). I really do want to serve others: it fits with my mission and calling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is awesome. My daughter drove across the USA and couch surfed the whole way staying on a cliff in the Rockies and playing pool in the flat lands etc. I have stayed with CS for bicycle races that require an early start and met some very cool people!

Music, Movies, and Books

wow I just read the BEST book ever: ENDURANCE: It is about Ernest Shackleton's amazing TRUE adventure in 1915 in the Antartic. Check it out! That was not only an exceptional adventure but also was an example of leadership that has few equals. talk about caring about your fellow "man" and being responsible for each other!!!
Most of the music I listen to (or all) is contemporary Christian tunes. (like K-LOVE radio). I also like retro 70's stuff and new music with soul and nice lyrics. love dancing to all kinds of music with a beat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

mission work in Thailand just after the Tsunami, and mission work in Honduras and Belize. Completing the Ironman Triathlon in New Zealand 2000 (2&1/4 mile swim and 112 mile bike and then a full marathon in under 13 hours) and then 5 months later finished 5th overall female in the Vineman 1/2 Ironman at age 40; that same year I swam 3 & 1/2 miles open water across lake Tapou in NZ and was on a relay swimming team that crossed 40 miles of open water in 11 hours.
most amazing thing seen: the Northern lights in the Cascades (near Canada in Washington) on the Pacific Crest trail while on a back pack trip. and riding in the Thailand fishing boats traveling to a remote island 6 hours off the coast of Miamar (Burma) and the colors the leaves change to in Oct. in Ohio and the spawning salmon at that time in the Rogue River in southern Oregon, and the sparkle of snow when it is very cold and the sun is shinning and the ski is blue.

Teach, Learn, Share

I kayak and have extra kayak gear for couch surfers if they are willing to help do the work "guiding" a trip involves. I can show GREAT trail runs and hikes in this area and nordic ski trails. I LOVE to run and bicycle and have a bicycle for sharing. My Spanish is pretty good too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

love and laughter, kindness, gratitude and respect.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Egypt, Honduras, Jamaica, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, Turkey
