About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing what Europe has to offer by taking the best beer trip in the world.

ABOUT ME

I am a somewhat recent college graduate looking to do something more than waiting tables. ç

I am sometimes known as a writer, an amateur basketball player, an avid baseball fan, and a makeshift musician.

I also love to travel and discover new things. Most of my travels have been inside the United States. I have also ventured into Mexico (briefly), Canada and Italy. Right now I am in the midst of my first journey throughout Europe by myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I don´t know if I have a great philosophical message to share but I really like one from a Woody Allen movie - Whatever works.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS but will definitely be using it more in the future, for both hosting and visiting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None.

Interests

Watching or playing baseball and basketball, listening to amazing music, imbibing amazing beer, and watching only good movies (meaning no Will Ferrell films).

I would also say I am really interesting in politics, both local and international. Coming from a city of corruption and having worked for a non-profit organization working against corruption, I am always interested in how politics affects communities and citizens and what citizens can do to change things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name but here are a handful:
Music - Elbow, Doves, Beck, Spiritualized, Warlocks, Four Tet, Oasis, The Clash, Buzzocks, Joy Division, Velvet Undergound, The John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Toots and the Maytals, Steve Reich, classical music, BB King, Robert Johnson, The Fugees, Dr. Dre, Bone Thugs, and much much more.

Movies - Tree of Life, Seven, anything Denzel Washington related, all Spike Lee films (except Inside Man), any Paul Newman film.

Authors - Hunter S. Thompson, JD Salinger, Chuck Klosterman, Kurt Vonnegut, to name only a few - plus loads and loads of travel books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran a marathon on nothing but twinkies and listening to the Strokes. No training necessary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have travelled extensively in the United States and it is truly something worth seeing. No matter whether you are from the States or faraway lands, America and its weird, strange, and isolated (or populated) areas has something to offer everyone.
