Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed and hosted in the past with only overwhelmingly positive results! Viva la CS!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Played my first game of Risk, tried on my first Snuggie, saw an opera at a castle, ate great food, had great talks, spent the night at a cabin the woods in Switzerland, and overcame my loathing for Guitar Hero. I fractured my leg while I was in Switzerland, I could barely walk, and my hosts basically adopted me for a week until I could get a flight home. I'd put them up for sainthood; they are the epitome of what CS is about. I could not be more grateful for this community.
Interests
Books, hiking, seeing the world, theatre, games, light, trees, adrenaline rushes, and good conversation.

Teach, Learn, Share
I just learned this:
acnestis
PRONUNCIATION:
(AK-nist-uhs)
MEANING:
noun: The part of the body where one cannot reach to scratch.
ETYMOLOGY:
From Greek aknestis (spine), from Ancient Greek knestis (spine, cheese-grater).
USAGE:
"In what has to be the longest post-election season in living memory, the last five months have felt like an acnestis upon our collective soul; like that little patch of skin on our backs that we just can't reach to scratch ourselves. It's irritating. It's annoying. It's left us reaching and spinning around in circles."
