About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore. Read the subtext of life through interesting encounters with places, people and ideas.
ABOUT ME
I try to be as open minded as possible. Even though I feel like there's a long road ahead, I noticed traveling has contributed a lot. I love to discover places all around the world and I'm in for all kinds of travel. So far I've made two big hitchhiking tours. They've provided me with so much wonderful meetings that I'm pretty certain that I'll keep on doing so. I prefer to stay a while in one spot to sharpen my view on local culture, language and life in general.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm trying to be not too judging towards people, as it allows me to be a better person. Travel wise: the sky is the limit. And also: language is the key to understanding. I'm not too big on the reincarnation idea, so in this one life I've got I try to live different lives, shuffling my surroundings and occupations.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We live in a small apartment close to the city center. Our house is cosy but not tidy. We have some spare mattresses we can pitch in the living room and a hammock. Don't expect luxury, expect soul.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met great people in and from different parts of the world through Couchsurfing. In Madrid I made friends for life. In Mexico, my hosts took the hospitality level to the max, and I took home big gratitude and great sense of 'giving back'.
Interests
Meeting up with friends at home, traveling around, get outdoors, challenge myself, enjoy or make music, ... there's a lot to indulge in!
Music, Movies, and Books
That's too hard a question. I like so many of them there aren't really any favourites. Bookwise, I stick to classics though: Joyce, Salinger, Márquez, Hesse, Mulisch, Hermans. There you have it. And oh yeah, I'll always stick up for the first season of True Detective. Did I mention I like Jeff Buckley a lot?
Teach, Learn, Share
People who have less tend to give more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A hammock and/or sofa(s). A very cool neighbourhood, the real deal. A trip around some parts of town, if I'm not busy or attending classes. A meal, a shower. Most important: a roof.
