About Me

I'm a 35 year old gay man that acts like "just another dude." I brew my own beer, play volleyball competitively, like dive bars, prefer bikes/longboards/busses over cars, am a social butterfly, and am a break dancing hippie (yes, also a pot smoker). I try to be extremely down to earth, generally kind and "smiley" to everyone, usually don't interrupt people when they are talking, say "good afternoon" and "thank you" to bus drivers, hold the door open for people, and only keep similar people close to me. I absolutely LOVE exquisite food, coffee, beer, wine, and most consumable things. By exquisite I mean local, organic, and made from scratch with love, no matter what it is. I try to make a habit of juicing fresh veggies and fruit most mornings because it makes me feel like a million bucks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a big 1000ft² 2br / 1ba apartment (2nd bedroom has its own private door) in the heart of Wilton Manors (the most gay friendly part of Fort Lauderdale). I don't have much, but what I DO have you are welcome to.

I have a huge 9-piece sectional sofa that has two sleeper beds in it that I occasionally setup for a local friend when I refuse to let them drive home, or for a traveler in need of saving some cash on lodging.

I figure I may need to use Couchsurfing.com to crash on someone's couch in the future, so I might as well open my couch to anyone that needs it in the meantime :) I did have one of the very few robbery experiences on CS on my 4th guest or so, which was unfortunate and disheartening to say the least, but I know that it was just very bad luck on my part and I'm not going to let it get me down. I have recently logged back into CS and am considering opening my home up again. Be gentle ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh boy... there's WAY too many things to list here. I like all genres of music and could talk music for hours.

In terms of movies, I like most types of movies and usually only dislike actors rather than the movie itself. Steel Magnolias is fabulous :)

Love me some Jack Kerouac and such, but mostly just read technical manuals and how to guides these days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to play in several different bands in various genres (rock, funk, bluegrass, jazz, choral, etc.) and used to tour the west coast of the U.S. and Canada playing music for tons of happy hippies at various festivals, bars, and night clubs. I occasionally go back to Oregon and play reunion tours with the old bluegrass band, but am mostly just focused on work and building my company lately.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to do a lot of different things from break dancing, to playing guitar/piano/voice/most woodwind instruments, web/software programming in most languages, hackey sack, volleyball, longboarding/skateboarding, brewing beer, basic conversational Japanese, and mostly enjoy learning things I know little about from others. I am always happy to share any knowledge I have with anyone who is interested. I'm constantly eager to learn something new and am intrigued by different talents and walks of life in general.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I share everything I have to anyone that needs/wants it.
