Overview
About Me
For the past 24 years I've lived in a cohousing community 6 or so miles east of Boulder (http://www.nylandcohousing.org/homepage). Work for myself and in my own way "changing the business as usual" way in which I approach my work. Have enjoyed numerous aspects of the outdoors that Colorado offers. Passions with the river, soothing self care - like meditation, health, sustainability, gardening, minimalism, learning, the natural world, and travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m in a book club and often spend more time reading then listening to music. Recent books: “Circling the Sun” the life of Beryl Markham - first woman aviator to cross the ocean from Europe to US; Orphan Train, Lost Horizon, A Tale For the Time Being, A Place To Stand, Buddha’s Brain, Daring Greatly, and numerous work related books around trauma, addiction, and family systems. Music I enjoy is much that I grew up with from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Diversity. Although I enjoy knowing what music is popular, the louder heavy electro rock and rap type stuff joggles my nervous system, which leads me to activities that are more calming. Movies I like are biographical, adventure, drama, documentary - often around meaning or purpose.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This summer I rowed my 14' inflatable raft down the Grand Canyon - for the 6th time. The flow of the river and the natural world naturally connect me to a deeper spiritual connection with myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a life long learner with diverse interests, and hope to be doing this the rest of my life. The reciprocal exchange of listening and speaking about common interests is one way I teach/learn/share. Professionally, I do this with families with an addicted loved one.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A little experience of living in a cohousing community with lots of open space around (100 plus adults & 40 plus kids), CSA, greenhouse, etc. A bedroom. Sharing common interests, and listening to their stories.
Countries I’ve Visited
El Salvador, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain
