Born and raised in Lawrence, KS! Love getting out there and soaking up the sun, meeting folks, and capping the night with food and friends. I'm setting out for a bike trip around the United States this fall 2015. Never have gone out on a tour of that length (~9 months), but can't wait to see what's out there and who's doing it. These last couple of years I've worked as a para in an ESL preschool here in town (mostly Spanish speaking kiddos, 4-5 years old) and as a teacher in our local West African drumming group (it's got structure, y'all, not just stoned bongo circle :). Before that I lived between Costa Rica and Mexico for a year and a half bumming around and eating lots of fruit. I love cooking, talking, and listening. Especially with beer. Update: The trip was a trip. I've settled back down in Lawrence for a while. Nice to sleep in the same bed several nights running. I started working at the local homeless shelter and living in a big co-op house. Lucky to be surrounded by the communities of both. Rare thing to find so many folks so engaged in their work and home life. Just going on the occasional road trip for now when I get a little time off.
