About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore new places while meeting new people

ABOUT ME

I love living in South Louisiana because of our lifestyle! From seafood boils, to Mardi Gras, or catching a big redfish, it's always a good time.

I am from a rural part of Louisiana where Cajun French is still spoken, and my family still uses the language. I spent much time hunting and fishing and on the bayou when I was young. After college, I came to New Orleans, the most interesting city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My neighbors introduced me to couchsurfing and it has been a great experience, so far. I don't think I would want to visit another country any other way. I want to connect with people and share the moments.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Spain, Austria, France, and Germany. I live in Uptown New Orleans and enjoy having guests at my house. I want to help people experience what New Orleans and Louisiana are really about.

Interests

My interests include running, cooking, playing music, auto mechanics, fishing, sailing, and anything on the water. I participate in the running community here in New Orleans, and play trumpet with two bands around town.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Louisiana music - we have so many great artists and unique genres here. Any Cajun music or New Orleans rhythm and blues sounds good to me, and I am always discovering new music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Interacting with people who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina was a powerful experience. Losing all belongings is tough, but the disruption of the community and scattering of people is worse.

On a positive note, watching sunrises from the boat in the Louisiana marsh, or on Grand Isle, are pretty hard to beat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope that I might contribute to the community by sharing Louisiana's culture and way of life with others. I would like to share my experiences and connect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help you plan what to do during your visit to New Orleans, find live music, play music with you, and if I have a boat trip planned, I can show you the swamp and marshes. If you are here on the weekend and like to sail, maybe we can get out.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Austria, Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Honduras, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
