Overview
About Me
Hey/Yo!
I'm an American and a Norwegian wrapped in one Some of my favorite things are music (always), languages (when I can!), politics (sometimes), and sports (when Philly teams are good).
🏿 I'm in Łódź for a week for work. I'm free most evenings and plan to explore the city... and watch my favorite baseball team play some really important games at a sports bar (can you recommend any?)
I grew up and studied in the U.S., but am now a European at heart and by passport. After spending a year in Kraków and another in Prague during my twenties, I moved to Oslo for what I thought would be one year.
Fast forward to today, and I'm still in Norway. Life is very good here in the north, but I make a point of getting out regularly to familiar places and new ones alike.
I #standwithukraine 🇺🇦 and hope you do too
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet like-minded people during my travels. My on a peninsula surrounded by the Oslo Fjord on both sides, with beaches for swimming, trails for hiking and even a friendly local tavern for a nightcap.
I usually travel with friends, my partner or my brother, but when I get the chance to travel solo I love meeting up with CSers.
Interests
I've had great CS experiences doing all kinds of things: city walks, swimming in rivers and lakes, hours-long talks, going to concerts, exploring nature.
Still like grabbing a couple pints of local (especially love neighborhood-y spots), but these days I enjoy and chilling or going for a nice walk even more.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot, mainly contemporary fiction, but also narrative nonfiction. I try to spend my reading time on books rather than doom-scrolling Twitter and news sites, not always very successfully :)
I am almost always listening to music. As a teenager it was alternative rock and ska. In my 20's it was electronic music. Now I'm listening to more guitar-driven metal and rock. I like melodic and progressive stuff, no matter the genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traversed the Caucasus mountains in Azerbaijan in a mini monster truck and lived to tell the tale.
Glimpsed the midnight sun far north of the Arctic circle (though no northern lights yet).
Oh, and I escaped the U.S. and landed on my feet in Norway.
