About Me

I'm a pretty active guy, big into running, biking, and basically any outdoor activity. I used to be shy, but college has changed that for the better. I'm a friendly guy, a little weird I'll admit, but it comes with the territory of being an endurance athlete.

I'm just trying to enjoy myself and spend my life doing things I love. I truly can't think of a better way to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At each place I've traveled to, I remember the specific person or people that were welcoming and made my trips amazing. I love the idea of being that welcoming person for others.

Interests

I'm a huge runner. I competed at the DI level in college, and plan to make an attempt at an Olympic Trials qualifier on the track. I'm always reading a book, and I love discovering and listening to new music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music: the Avett Brothers, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Head and The Heart, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, Bon Iver, Chet Faker, Death Cab for Cutie, Gregory Alan Isakov, Grouplove, Houndmouth, James Blake, Matt Corby, The Lumineers, The Milk Carton Kids, Modest Mouse, Mumford & Sons, Nathaniel Rateliff, Parker Millsap, Radical Face. You know, that kind of stuff...

I really liked Whiplash. Also anything Spike Jonze has made.

I'll always be a Harry Potter nerd (I actually got a deathly hallows tattoo one drunken night...). Some other books I've really enjoyed are "Once a Runner" and "Again to Carthage" by John L. Parker Jr., "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig, "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer, and "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. I realize how eclectic this list is...I'll basically read anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been all over the U.S., but much of my travel has been through university athletics, which unfortunately doesn't allow for much free time to explore each destination. One of my best memories is racing at the Armory indoor track in New York, which is a really historic running venue in the U.S. I didn't race particularly well, but you could literally feel the history in that place. It was pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm still in school because I still have more to learn.
