About Me

Been travelling since January 2017 - worked for 7 years in the food industry before restructuring in the company made me reevalutate what I was doing. Since then I've visited Asia and Australia and done some incredible things - hiking to Everest base camp, motorbiking up Vietnam, trans-siberean railway and I'm looking to do some more.

Getting older has meant that I'm more used to sitting and talking over a beer rather than going out to the small hours and becoming more and more interested in current events (ah to the simpler times of computer games) - I've lived alone for much of my working time, so I'm used to keeping places clean and doing cooking and cleaning - in other words I'm housetrained.

Recommendation for anyone reading this profile - listen to the podcast 'my dad wrote a porno', it's absolutely hilarious and if you enjoyed that then we'll probably get along fine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I'm tired of doing the usual hostel routes - I've been to couchsurfing parties before in the UK and know there are lots of good people who host events, it's also nice to be around actual people who live in a city and have their own views of what is nice rather than having the usual backpacker conversations and the same route through the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - rock but really everything, bit of electronica and swing.

books - love Iain m Banks and murakami, trying to read through some of the 'classic' books at the moment.

movies - inception, the matrix, as long as it's well scripted I'll watch it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking to Everest base camp and waking the cho la pass, very tough but totally worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've not got much experience in teaching, but I do natively speak english (though with an accent - Scottish) if you would like to practice. I can also cook quite well especially traditional Scottish food (mince and potatoes, salmon etc) and Italian, I would love to learn how to cook different types as well.

As I've been travelling for a while now I can share tips and experiences of the places I've been to, as well as any of the shopping that needs to be done.

What I Can Share with Hosts
