About Me

Hiya friends! My name is Jeffrey and I am a linguistics student at Brown University! But I do way more than that... I sew (see my profile pic for a suit I made), I love guitar, puzzles, literally any board game (i played scrabble competitively), swing dancing, and any experience that classifies as "tomfoolery." I love travel and getting to know people, and I'd love to get to know you, if I'm in town!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being a college student who loves to travel, I'd much rather meet real people and have real experiences than go through a tour or hotel. I love talking to people, learning your story, telling jokes and stories and wisdoms! To get to share this experience with you would absolutely make my day :)

Teach, Learn, Share

So "helicopter" is a fascinating word. Many people think the roots of helicopter are HELI- and -COPTER. And you would be reasonable for thinking this, because we have so many words like HELIPAD or GYROCOPTER. HOWEVER, the real roots are both greek, coming from HELICO (spiral shaped), like helix, and PTERON meaning wing, like, shockingly, PTERODACTYL. So now, it makes words like QUADCOPTER very interesting. You have the latin QUAD, and then the beheaded -CO- falsely stolen from helico, and then the final pter....

Once, I saw a poster for a 26-mile quadcopter race, called: QUAD-CO-P-ATHON
LITERALLY THE P IS THE ONLY SILENT LETTER IN PTERODACTLY!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have stories and music and jokes! I would also love to help out around the house and get to know you! I need very little, but it would be really cool to learn from you.
