Overview
About Me
I'm a born-and-bred California kid currently living in Berlin for graduate school, earning a master's degree in International Affairs. This is really my first time living in Europe so in between classes and working on my master's thesis, I'm trying to explore as much of the continent as I possibly can.
I love having new experiences that turn into great stories, meeting people and hearing their own stories, gut-busting humor, and delicious food. I'm all about grounding myself by developing individual connections, and I'm looking forward to expanding my horizons and taking in the deep cultural and social history that Europe has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to make sure that my traveling experiences are more about the journey than the destination and because in my line of work, nothing is more impactful than a genuine interaction between two people.
Interests
I'm into all kinds of stuff!
Traveling is a bit of a given. I enjoy all kinds of sports (but am primarily a basketball and tennis guy). I follow a lot of global news and am pretty well-versed in a lot of current affairs. I'm a pretty big nerd and am not afraid to admit it; I follow a lot of comic book/video game lore. I'm also a huge music buff with a pretty wide and eclectic taste in musical genres. Lastly, I'm a pretty avid amateur photographer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a pretty eclectic sense of music, but what's been on my playlist a lot recently has been Dear Evan Hansen, Alvvays, Leon Bridges, Kendrick, and Cigarettes After Sex. I love sharing music, so let's swap playlists!
Movies: In typical nerd fashion, my all-time favorite films are Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and The Princess Bride. Other films that are up on my list are Inglourious Basterds, Red Cliff, Princess Mononoke, Fargo, Seven Samurai, Big Hero 6.
Books: I don't read as much as I would like to, but on my list is Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I'm also still working on The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent last summer living and working for a small NGO in Kathmandu, Nepal. During that time I spent 10 days hiking across 6 villages in mountains and working with local farmers. I have photos to prove it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you conversational Chinese, I'm open to learning anything and I love sharing music and travel tips!
