About Me
Hello! My name is Jeff. I used to work as a paramedic in Detroit, MI and I am now taking a break from my career to travel around the world. I am a year into my travels and so far I have lived in Seattle and Maui. My next stop is Asia and I am going to spend some time in Portland to save up some money. I have done several work exchanges with helpx.net and I have lived and worked in two different hostels. I love practicing yoga and meditating. I am a chill and laid back person that gets along well with others easily. I look forward to meeting you! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm couch surfing because I'm traveling on a budget and I am trying to save money.
Interests
I've always enjoyed hiking, camping, and exploring. I just recently got into free diving while I was living on Maui. Music is another passion of mine and I love writing and playing music. I have a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but I haven't been able to train in a while because I've been traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to blues and rock. I am currently reading the Hidden Life of Trees, but I am not as much of an avid reader as I used to be. I don't really watch many movies but I like comedy and adventure.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things that I have seen and done is when I did a hike at the summit of Rainbow Mountain in Peru. The peak is at 17,000 ft. and it was one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen in my life. As the snow melted years ago the rocks were exposed to the air and changed colors. There are bands of reds, greens, and blues that stretch down one of the peaks. I hope to revisit it one day. Peru is a beautiful and magical place.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am willing to teach guitar and what I know about gardening, healthy living, and herbal medicine. I am also willing to work on your English if it is not your first language.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook, clean, or assist with any tasks you need help with. I can do minor house and vehicle repairs. Also, I can just sit and play my guitar for you as well. I am versatile in my skills and I learn quickly, so if you need or want help with something just let me know!
