One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was in the desert in New Mexico and a freak storm enveloped my car and the severity reached a pitch where we had to pull over and lean on the horn to stop a following car collecting ours. The storm quickly blew over, leaving a saturated atmosphere. While my mate was taking photos I noticed that the surface of the desert was tingling. Soon thousands of bugs pushed their way out of the surface, rubbed their wings and buzzed up into the sky. This was the middle of July and the temperature was such that they fell like Icarus. Before leaving I noticed that the retreating storm cloud had two rainbows stretching into the horizon. This is one of the most profound moments of my life.
