CURRENT MISSION

I'm a theatre artist who enjoys new experiences and meeting new people. I love having fun, and every experience gives us insight into ourselves and helps enhance our work and lives. I'm really outgoing and love making people laugh (or trying).

ABOUT ME

I relocated to Chicago (3.5 years ago) after graduating college in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at Ouachita Baptist University. I'm plump and full of personality! I'm very interested in people and learning about their history. I try to use everything I learn to influence my theatrical work in some way. My dream is to become a director of my own theatre company. I also want to own a lighthouse.

PHILOSOPHY

I've said this several times already, but I believe that every thing, person, and place has a story to tell/share. The more stories, people, places, and things we expose ourselves to, the more well-rounded as human being we can become. I'm well-rounded physically (haha, fat joke), so now I'm ready to be well-rounded on a deeper level.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to host people from all over. This would allow me an opportunity to have some unique experiences with people I'd never have met otherwise. I'd also like to have the opportunity to travel myself. Every person and place has a story to tell and I want to be exposed to as many of those stories as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronic, Folk, Pop, Techno, Indie, Bluegrass, just about anything except for hard metal/rock - although there is a place for that too.

Movies: Charlie Kauffman, Synechdoche, NY is my favorite movie of all time, I'm not a big fan of Action movies or horror movies involving blood/gore and zombie movies. Other than those, I like just about anything.

Books: I read a lot of plays. My favorite play is J.B by Archibald MacLeish.
Favorite book: There's a graphic novel BLANKETS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am currently in the process of producing my Chicago Directorial Debut. Completely self-organized and run. I constructed the team, cast the show, and created a fundraiser for it. We begin rehearsals in 3 short weeks!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am total willing to teach someone about theatre and the process of creating a live work on stage - or introducing people to classic plays or newer ones. I'm also able to help out if someone needs help with online social networking/ creating spreadsheets/ email lists/ etc.
I'd love to learn more about sports and how to keep track of them.
I'd love to learn another language - or strengthen my Spanish.
