Sobre mí

--Please note, my home is approximately 1-2 hours from downtown Toronto.--

I am a calm, easygoing fella who's trying to make this world a better place. :) Its hard to sum me up in just a few words because I like so many different things, and enjoy being around many different people. I thrive on being social, but appreciate balance in all parts of life. My home is calm and quiet, for the most part, and prefer to do most of my activity and socialising outside the house.

The main way to describe me is a 'community builder'. Years ago, when I started to understand the way the world was, and how it all connected, I knew I needed to change my life and do something about where this world seems to be headed. This was back in about 2012 and I decided then to leave the big city and find something smaller. Since then I have moved to at least 3 different cities outside Toronto, and travelled from east coast to west coast of North America. There are many places I still have left to go, even on this continent, but for now I am taking a break and settling into a nice little community in a city not far from Toronto, and trying to contribute in any way I can.

Music is a passion of mine, and I love almost every kind there is. There is something about music that just takes you to different places sometimes, and it helps shape your world in different ways. My 2 favourites are Tori Amos and Peter Gabriel, but my male favourite has been known to change. I like nearly everything from classical (sometimes) to hard rock, and especially like oldies, particularly 80s and 90s, but as I get older, I am listening to the harder stuff less and less.

As I am still fairly new to the area I'm not fully established yet, but I am secure enough financially, and am slowly figuring out where I fit into what's happening in this neat, fun, intriguing city!

I am an avid reader and like a lot of non-fiction, as well as sci-fi and fantasy, and other genres as well. Same goes for movies. I also like to watch documentaries, and have helped show some publicly sometimes, too. I like quirky and odd/unusual stories, as well as those with a strong, prominent female character.

Diversity is important in life. Without diversity in nature, we would all die as we (eventually) wouldn't have the food we need to survive. I believe the same is true for human diversity, as we need 'all' of us if we are going to survive.

Interests:

Wide Ranging...

I like almost all music, but really like alt rock, indie/local bands, 90s or other oldies, and folk. I try to see some local bands whenever I am traveling. I can watch almost any movie but prefer quirky ones, with a deeper meaning, including sci fi and fantasy, as well as dramas or semi/biographical. Same goes for books.

Gardening/farming, spending time with animals, hiking, camping, swimming.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Made my own costume for a movie premiere. It was more complicated than I expected, but I'm very proud that I accomplished the final product.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach a little bit about cooking, sewing, English, some Spanish, how to be more Green, some things about health and wellness, and how people live in Canada, and in the area I live. I live in a small city outside of Toronto, and there are lots of trails, and trees, and water. There is also wildlife everywhere. Its truly an experience.

Something I’m interested in learning is more French, brushing up on my Spanish, how to farm, and about where ‘you’ live.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

food, conversation, connection, my life experience and travel experience, an adaptable nature (I am very clean, and very quiet in my own space.. and engage with others only at the level they prefer), respect, ‘solicited’ advice.. including spiritual/tarot.

What I can share with guests:

A place to stay with either a couch or a bed, with blankets, pillow, towel/shower, 1 load of laundry, an occasional meal, knowledge of my city/country, kindness, and acceptance of diversity. Travelling can get complicated.. I’m hoping to provide a space for whatever you need most.
