ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I have a bittersweet relationship with that state, but I am probably the least Texan Texan that you will ever meet.

I now call Bellingham, Washington home. Bellingham is about an hour north of Seattle, right on the ocean and just south of Vancouver, B.C. I LOVE it there. The epitome of any and every outdoor sport is within an hours drive. At WWU, I studied Environmental Toxicology!

In the summers I work for a wilderness tripping summer camp in Northern Wisconsin. The kids go on either Canoeing, Sea Kayaking or backpacking trips that vary from 3-45 days long depending on age and experience! I attended this camp when I was of that age and it is a big part of my life. Therefore, wilderness tripping, or 'trail' is a HUGE part of my life. It's a place where the petty things disappear and you are out there livin' the simple life.

In 2009-2010 I spent the best year of my life in Edinburgh, Scotland!!

The great outdoors, travel, camping, ethnic foods, music-going to shows, sea/whitewater kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, and day hikes! Having those instant connections with people and deep/engaged conversations. Collecting sea-glass and maps. Fall and spring. Gardening! I love to have pot-lucks and parties. The sun and the rain. REAL food...
