Overview
About Me
I'm 31/Caucasian/male/from Pennsylvania; really a nice, kind-hearted nerdy guy. I am the assistant manager of a non-profit called illumination station, and business manager for a couple bands.
I'm applying to I go to school full time online for medical billing and coding and I have been in Nashville since march 2016. I have been bouncing from place to place with nothing really permanent as of yet. I was just about to sign a lease and the former tenant scratched out my name and wrote in another person's name, effectively making me homeless. I have been working in stage building for 16 months now, but I am more than ready to get into the medical industry ASAP.
I really have worked my buns off to make it in this town, but i have a place in my grasp, but I just need a place to crash for a few days to be able to work and get into this apartment and be on my way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I honestly need a place to crash for the weekend, until something open up on Monday and then either move back home (hopefully) or else I will move into my new place September 1st. I'm really just between places for a few days, either way that it plays out I really don't feel like being arrested for being on the street or camping on land without permission.
As for me, I just like to chill and have good vibes, be respectful, clean up, get to bed on time, no raging all night or drinking stupid amounts of alcohol for me. I like to chill and talk, go walk around and get fresh air, watch adult swim, listen to music, debate, play board games, magic cards, read books, go to school, work hard for what I have, give to charity, work on my professionalism, and most of all be successful and self-sufficient in life.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like psychedelic blues, metal, punk, ska, dubstep, some rap, as well as a lot of other genres if the artists are good themselves.
I like a lot of cheesy horror movies, or anything suspenseful or comedy. I have lots of favorite movies , but I guess SLC punk is a classic, or requiem for a dream, fight club, trainspotting, young Frankenstein, anchorman, just to name a few classics.
I read a lot of manuals for my schoolwork, so I don't really have time for reading novels. I do like the writings of Hunter S Thompson, a tale of two cities, 1984, be here now, Mark Twain, Edgar Cayce, and of course most anything horror.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last week I was invited to be a staffer at a festival for the solar eclipse up a top a mountain in Daniel Boone's reserve. The manager ended up being delayed, and I ran the Illumiknation station eclipse festival until he was on site. After that, the staging company gave up on catering and I began a movement to crowd source food to feed the festival goers and staff. The festival would have been ruined if not for these efforts, and I am proud for stepping up and being honored for my actions.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not a musician, so I probably don't have much to share musically. I do know a lot of things, so I'm a pretty good listener or pretty easy to get a long with and chill.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can buy some groceries or clean up the place. I'm sure we can think of some sort of barter or company or whatever floats your boat. I can share my many skills and knowledge of neuroscience, philosophy, trades, farming, meditation , yoga, spirituality, tools, and connections.
