About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I wanna see, try, eat or do something new every day.

ABOUT ME

Some background:
I am fascinated by all things foreign and love meeting fun-loving, spunky people. I was born in Serbia, but grew up in the States. I've been traveling every summer since I can remember, bouncing around various countries with friends and family. My favorite parts of traveling is the food, the music, getting lost in little side streets and going to local villages. Growing up between cultures, I've become very curious, adventures and restless.

My deal, to date:
I recently graduated from college and spent the year in Brazil. I am currently beginning a year in Thailand, where I'll be doing development work in the realm of housing finance. I just moved to Bangkok and am loving it so far.

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to take advantage of all of the cool ideas CSers have for exploring cities, and contribute to the mix.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whenever I have gone to a new city, I've meet a lot of great people through couch surfing. In New York last summer, I went to tons of meet ups. Trying to do the same here in Rio and while traveling in Brazil.

I spent last summer in NYC and meet a lot of people through Smooch Cafe meet-ups in Brooklyn and Thursday nights in Union Square's Revival. My favorite experience was Kaleidoscope -- an awesome renegade art parade that takes over the streets of ny.

Interests

Roadbiking, surfing, microfinance, economic development, indian weddings, chacha, tango, colombian/afghani/burmese/moroccan food, flip flops, procrastinating on travelblog.org.

Movies: Forrest Gump, My Girl, Shawshank Redemption

Music: Gotan Project, Royksopp, Ace of Base (and all other forms of eurotrash), Buena Vista, Postal Service

Books: Shantaram, Eat Love Pray, The Cider House Rules. I'm putting together a list of 15 must read books. Suggestions?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Udaipur, India: Dancing with a wedding procession of hundreds of people
-San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua: Finding and chilling with secret little community of travelers living in tree houses, near the beach.
-Cologne, Germany: Carnival. 5 Amazing days of dancing, partying, singing, living. I'd wager to say that it is second only to Rio.
-Camino de Santiago: walking 500 miles across the north of Spain

Teach, Learn, Share

I am passionate about languages and believe that you can always improve. I'd love to improve my Spanish and learn Portugese. I'd also love to keep up my Serbian or German -- So if you fall in to any of those categories, let's rendezvous.
