CURRENT MISSION
To see what the world has to offer...
ABOUT ME
What can I say? In all the traveling I have been doing lately, my perceptions of myself and the world around me have been changing. At this point in time, I would say I enjoy imagination and creativity, especially when used artistically; I like learning something new every day, no matter what it is; I tend to be a perfectionist; I like open-minded people and long discussions about anything under the sun. I enjoy cooking, spring, political cartoons, a good book and coffee in all its forms.
PHILOSOPHY
Above all, I believe in fairness, open-mindedness and in preserving human dignity. In anything I do, whether it be studying, traveling or working, I keep these three things in mind. I think the world would be a better place if we just remember to walk in each other's shoes for a while.
I believe that travelling is important for your soul, your brain, your health and your personality. In travelling, you learn not only about other people and places, but about yourself.
My favourite quote is one of Gandhi's: "Be the change you want to see in the world." For me, this means living your life in order to help others, especially vulnerable populations.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My friend and I are currently traveling for (almost) a year and right now, I am participating by surfing. However, I should be starting to host in the fall when I settle back in Canada. I believe that just because you can't physically go somewhere, you can experience travel through others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of my couchsurfing experiences have been interesting, full of meeting like-minded people. Many hosts have welcomed me into their homes, offered their knowledge and hospitality. Although all of my hosts have been genuinly nice people, the best memories I have are of people talking to me about how they live and work in a city or country I am visiting.
All of my experiences and the memories I have taken away from them have solidified my faith in this project and made me look forward to being a host myself very soon.
Interests
I love to paint in all mediums, take architectural photographs, and play around in Photoshop. I don’t mind waiting for that perfect shot, and I would rather look at one awesome painting for an hour in a museum than rush through and see all of them in the same amount of time.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movies are: Amelie, Howl's Moving Castle, Romancing the Stone, and any vampire movies.
I love all music except for modern rap, and my favourite authors are Hemingway, Austen, Frost, Andric and Shelley.
Best of all, I like literature and films which change your perception of the world around you or make you see something in a new way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked the coast of Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. It was one of those moments where I felt exhilerated and astounded by nature, by the place I was in, by the moment of utter peace because I was standing there by myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Wherever I go in my travels, the first thing I do when I get settled is to find a local and to ask about the best things to see and the best places to eat. Even if you have a guide book, I advise people to seek out locals. They have knowledge no guide book can ever hope to encompass.
I love cooking and love teaching others how to cook. Food is so essential and a part of every culture. Food is also universal in how it brings people together.
