Hi, I am Jelle.
I am originally from Utrecht, but I currently study international land- and water management in Wageningen where I also live.
In between my study periods I try to travel as much as possible, mainly within Europe but if time and money allows, other continents are also visited.
On my journeys I mainly enjoy the culture of a city, their customs and habits, and nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see more of this beautiful world I have not nearly seen enough of. Having an easy stay is the best way to start! Also staying with someone who is from the city gives a different perspective on the city than just being a tourist in a hotel.

I think hosts can tell me, or even show me some very new, non-lonelyplanet-like, places. Doing something as a tourist that other tourists don't do feels like some form of achievement.

Interests

I am very interested in people and how they do things. Just watching people is something that satisfies me, because everyone does things their own way.
When I am somewhere I like it to just walk or skate (I really love skating!) around. It gives me so much freedom.

Also culture and religion I find very interesting. I have been to Taizé a few times and went in silence for a week twice. I am very curious about Asian cultures. I have done martial arts for several years. They have ways of thinking and doing things that differ so much from our western way of thinking.

I really like having a good drink and talk. I am not very shy and can often add something in a conversation

Lastly the things I do in my spare time. I have played a lot of sports but currently I do rowing and a little bit of running. I like watching netflix and my spotify is always within reach:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While being on a road trip we decided to swap our tents for an abandoned house. One of the best nights we ever had!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to juggle, speak Dutch/English, do the hool-a-hoop or one of my many (yet to be discovered?) talents!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some dinner, get some drinks and sometimes I can even be funny!
