About Me

CURRENT MISSION

thrive and survive

ABOUT ME

I'm lively, generous and independent. I notice even the most subtle bit of graciousness and will always return the favor. A creative-type, passionate, dedicated, introspective, artistic, easy going, engaged, encouraging, exuberant. Extremely honest and unabashed, I live with purpose, motivation, intention, integrity, and respect. I don't keep tabs and I'm always soakin' "it" up like a sponge. I love to debate, write, learn, and challenge, and yet I'm the peace maker/keeper and listener of all my friends and groups.

PHILOSOPHY

If you ask the question then you already know the answer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just joined the official network and am hosting a student at my apt in Austin, TX for the summer. I am hoping to have my first surfing experience this summer in Amsterdam. :]

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

currently hosting someone for the summer, never surfed myself, but have been referred countless times. Most definitely ready to get to it!

Interests

dance, performance, writing, criticism, art, guerilla art/performance, live music especially improv or jazz, sociology, ideologies, philosophies, personal histories, listening to people speak freely and passionately, organic foods, sustainable living, animals, joy, laughter, the Holy Spirit!, divine love, candles, wilderness, spontaneity. Getting enough sleep, the sensation of inhabiting a body and allowing biology to speak to ya, making big breakfasts... drinking enough water. Recently been into anime movies, Felini films, and 70s pysch horror/gore, also interested in Americana and Texas history... never thought I'd say that!! hahaha. anyway, it's an interest, not a body of knowledge by any stretch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

radiohead in milan. Driving into the california sunrise, through the peaks of 2 hilly things with 3 best friends, all asleep, and blasting a tune. Having an airplane full of special ed Italians sing Happy Birthday to me on my 20th birthday, on my first flight/time overseas. Booty dancing on DJ Jubilee. Raising the ONLY smile out of Carlos D during Interpol's 2007 concert in Dallas. Experiencing Alvin Ailey's "Revelations" from the first row, center... all I can say is ROCKAH MY SOUL. “Erection” created by French duo Pierre Rigal & Aurélien Bory and performed by Riga. AAAMAZING. Also, seeing Rome and walking through the lawns of the world's elite in switzerland.. those things are amazing to me because it makes some very lofty things all of a sudden very immediate and tangible. I've happened upon a few pretty stellar (obviously they are quite literally stellar...) meteor showers in my day, as well. This section does stress me out because I don't believe that it can all be deduced or recalled. life is good. Also, I think meeting up with people you haven't seen in years can be amazing. And, I had an amazing dream once about going on a spaceship ride... the spaceship was a red convertible, and there was a lot of smiling going on... and glitter.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a good bit about pilates/physical therapy/the body/movement/performance. Love to talk about it, learn from you AND share. Also have a bit of natural wisdom :] ... and a wealth of nutritional factoids.
