About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Visiting Thailand and Laos with a couple of friends. Loving the country so far. We're hoping to meet Thai people and fellow travelers to share experiences with.
ABOUT ME
I grew up on a farm in Maryland, have always been restless. Went to college in New York, lived for a summer in Chicago, took a trip to Norway and I got restless and took a semester off to walk the Appalachian Trail. I took a roadtrip one summer through the southwest and California. I went back to college, got restless again, studied abroad in Paris for a year. Then I lived in Idaho for a year, and finally found Portland, Oregon where I've been happily based for five years.
I love reading and writing and thinking and searching and listening to and making and sharing music. I couchsurf because I love meeting people with whom I can share a love of life and the things of life: stories, laughs, food, music, tips, culture, language, knowledge.
PHILOSOPHY
A search for knowledge leads you in the right direction.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love a huge range of music. Basically anything that has a real creative heartfelt drive behind it. Favorite band is Radiohead. Recently listened to a lot of Kikagaku Moyo, Ty Segall, Spiritualized, Built To Spill and David Bowie.
Books: I love literary fiction and non-fiction. There are many great authors. A few favorites are Cormac McCarthy, Ken Kesey, and John McPhee
Movies: I don't watch a ton of movies, but I like thrillers and I like shows like Breaking Bad, Narcos, and The Wire. Also like movies that make me think, Jim Jarmusch, and anything BBC Earth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked from Georgia to Connecticut on the Appalachian Trail over four months in the Eastern US and saw many, many amazing things along the way. Bears, coyotes, sunsets, forests, hikers, snails, birds, sunrises.
Teach, Learn, Share
Let's have a conversation!
I would love to meet somebody with whom I can improve my French, and I can offer English in the exchange. I'm always looking for people to collaborate with musically, and I'd love to discuss literature, poetry, art, music, life.
