Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like spending time with fellow travelers and hosting when I can. I like being a guest because it gives me perspective. I like hosting because it allows me to share an experience with others. Why not pull yourself out of the comforts of predictability and actually take a chance to connect with someone new. The places all melt together after a while but the people remain distinct experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of my hosts have been kind and caring people. I particularly enjoy learning from them and sharing something with them from my hometown. I have had no formal CS experience as a host through CS due to my unpredictable schedule BUT i have hosted people i met randomly- SF bay area has many visitors and you never know what kind soul you will meet on the street 😊
As a female traveler i have been fortunate on CS and with traveling solo in general. Unfortunately the world is not always a safe place for female travelers and i have learned that from speaking with other CSrs. I am only hosting women so that they have a safe place physically and emotionally. Sorry guys! Please see my home section!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music but mostly enjoy it LIVE. I try to get some exposure to the local music scene on all of all the paces I visit. While I am not one to spend time in a movie theater I do love a comedy. There are many great books so I cannot pick a favorite.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most amazing things I've done are best described through conversation :)
But one thing is cycling SF to LA to support HIV/AIDS research and treatment.

After waiting 8 hours to enter floor admission at a U2 concert i got to know people in line with me. I met two people who had traveled long distance for the show and had not slept. We still had another 4-5 hours to wait to get in so i gave them my apartment keys and they went to sleep there for a while. Of course my roommates were startled but not shocked i did it 😊
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning new things about culture, history and art. I like to try to share a meal; I usually like cooking for a host or guest. I also like to try to share some sort of experience with them such as hiking, going to a family/friend event, or seeing a local band.
I consider myself environmentally conscience. I practice the 3 Rs, minimize and reduce my footprint as best as i can. I am always open to learning new ways to be sustainable and sharing what i know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share travel stories, my personal recipes and laughs! While i am perfectly happy exploring alone its nice to explore with a guest or host. If available to meetup i like to join CSrs to museums (i know all the free days), hiking, and events like free local festivals ( i usually know those schedules too) I am not one to just hit up bars so if you are looking for a party host thats not me but there are plenty so have fun :)
