Overview
About Me
I have been living in St. John's, Newfoundland (The Rock), Canada since April 2015. I graduated with a culinary degree from Stratford Chef School in 2010 and have been happily cooking in kitchens ever since! Once a week two friends and I hold a pop-up donut shop called The Holy Grail :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love creating meaningful relationships with people and believe in the economy of sharing.
Interests
I am always finding new interests and hobbies, it's hard to juggle them all! I LOVE the outdoors and hike every week. In the winter I snowboard and keep my fingers busy by knitting.
I love Latin dance! Especially merengue, salsa, and bachata <3 As a chef I love to try new restaurants, street food, and experiment with recipes at home!
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to anything that sounds good to my ear! I'm particularly fond of The Shins, Andrew Bird, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, and The Great Lake Swimmers.
My bookshelf is always full and I am a big fan of the public library. My all time favourite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and I recently read All the Light We Cannot See. I always welcome suggestions and would love to hear yours.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just completed The Mongol Rally which was a 25, 000km charity road trip from UK to Mongolia through 24 countries!
Teach, Learn, Share
As a chef I like to eat local foods and would be happy to browse a market and tackle a local recipe with you.
I just learned my first party trick - juggling! I would be happy to teach you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm quiet, respectful, open to adventure, and crave good conversation.
