CS is an amazing community and resource to get connected with people all around the world. I'm traveling through Europe for the first time and would love to learn about the history, diversity, and local perspectives of the places I visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had several couch surfing experiences in Asheville, North Carolina.

My first experience was a stay in an anarchist collective house that felt like a rite of passage to a life focused on activism and sustainability. It's a funny story..when I called Alexei we talked for a good while before we realized we were at opposite ends of the same coffee shop, Firestorm! That first night we gathered with the neighbors and shared dinner w/ experimental vegan cakes, played banana graham, had a snow fight, built sculptures and topped it off with a GIANT snow barricade in the middle of the street but took it down cuz' we realized it was in front of the house. 40 Congress..the best book collection I've ever laid eyes on, an efficient grey water system, farming, composting, homemade goods, political/revolution awareness, musical instruments, and a glimpse to an unwritten future. A very informative experience, much thanks.

A stay with now good friend Evan was funny. He's an angel really. There was a time when me and my two road dogs almost slept under a bridge in the snow until Evan came to the rescue! We enjoyed making vegan dishes together and sleeping in warm big closets and waking up in the middle of the night not being sure if you're eyes are open or closed. He was so kind to give us a ride to the Charlotte airport, he belongs in spectacular nature.

When we met up with Ziggy we knew right away that it was going to be a good time. With a very beautiful, comfortable house it was hard not to feel at home. We spent hours cracking jokes and useless knowledge. Laughing, cuddling, and impressions were big ones here. We cooked mouth watering dishes and sang hashing songs. We also went out for New Years together which was exciting and intoxicating. Thanks for a good time.
